This offer will expire 10/15/12 with order be placed no later than 10/22/12.

GB Offer Update:

Anyone signed up here for GB is eligible for the same discount for PU kit and rear two piece rotor that will be available later
  • A $30 price deduction for those who don't need brake pads.
  • For a more aggressive street compound ET500 can be added for an additional $37.77.
  • An axle set of wheel stud conversion kit (value $106) will be included in the order (all GB orders) for free.
  • If you like to purchase extra set of stud conversion kit you will receive 10% discount ($95.22)
Bottom line cost:

If we get 10 people, less the brake pads (-$30) with free wheel stud conversion kit (-$105), your final cost for a pair of true light weight high performance rotors will be:

$712-$30-$105 = $577 per pair or $288.50/rotor

Comparing to PFC's $438/rotor your saving will be $150/rotor or 34%

Better yet, we guarantee RB two piece rotors will outperform any competitions' two piece including PFC for delivering consistent brake torque and durability regardless it's on street or track.

Progressive Upgrade Kit is also available (retail $1,550) which you can add it now on later.

This PU kit offers you the flexibility to upgrade your M3/CZP as you need or when your budget allows. If you upgrade your purchase to PU kit now, or later (within 12 months from the time of two piece rotor shipment) you are eligible for the same GB discount.

So assume we get 10 or more orders (2 pc or 2 pc+PU), then your PU kit cost will be $1550-$310 (20% off) = $1,240. Your final discounted brake kit cost = $1,240 + $577 = $1,817

Comparing to other BBK costing $2,500 to $3,500, you can easily figure out the saving yourself. Like two piece rotors, we offer the same guarantee against competitions' BBK (Alcon, Brembo or Stoptech) for the performance and durability.

Here are some comparison on how RB calipers are built differently than those brands that you are familiar with:

The piston sizes are 40-44mm - same as Brembo F40 but with the following differences:
  1. Our pistons are of stainless steel and theirs are aluminum
  2. Our pad thickness is 60mm which is the same as stock pad, and their pad is only 53mm (smaller in total area)
  3. To shield the dust, they use dust boots, but we uses built in seal so literally no replacement is required vs. their boots that quickly get burnt under high heat, and require constant replacement
  4. RB caliper has an offset of 27.7mm vs. their 55mm, shorter span means less flex and more rigidity
  5. Caliper body-Theirs is made from casting, ours is made from forging which is about 25% stiffer (by hardness test)
  6. Adapter-Theirs is made of 6016, ours is made of 7075-T6 and is about 45% better in strength (by hardness test)

10/1/12: Progressive upgrade prospects is added
Some members expressed their interest and concern of future possible upgrades which are summarized below:
  • Stage 1: Two piece rotor kit - Upgrade your stock to RB two piece (front 348x30, rear 328x20) - Front now, with rear to follow.
Price ~ $700/pair for front two-piece rotors (20% discount included in price).

  • Stage 2: OE size brake kit - Add calipers and adapters with RB two piece rotors and turn into a complete OE size aluminum caliper kit.
Price ~ $1950/axle kit for front OE brake kit (20% discount included in price).

  • Stage 3: BBK - Can further upgrade to 380x32 (19" wheel required) or 360x30 (E90 size) for front, and rear 348x26 (E90 size). You only need to replace larger discs and longer adapters, calipers and hats remain the same (no need to change).
Price ~ $2,300/axle kit for front BBK (20% discount included in price).

This unique program not only offers you the finest brake components that are custom built for your E46 M3 in every stage (especially our true light weight "e-brakable" rear two piece rotors), but can also save you some 30-50% comparing to Brembo or Stoptech kits that are built from their standard components.

Once you become a member of this GB you will be eligible for the same discounts towards the purchase of these stage kits as long as the upgrade purchase is made within 12 months from your previous purchase.

REAR BRAKE UPGRADE

Rear two piece rotor: Added 10/15/12 (Rev. 10/16/12)

Default Pad options

Could there be an option for those who already have brand new pads?

Also, an option for those that may want to change pads to something with a more aggressive compound?

Thanks!

Default What is min thickness on these rotors?

OE starts at 28mm, min is 26.4
your rotors start at 30mm, min is _____ ?
Also watching for answer to kalare's question on pads.

We will offer a $30 price reduction for group buy members who want to exclude brake pads.

For those of you looking for a more aggressive street pad, we can offer our ET500 for an additional $37.77.

Default thanks for answer - add adsingl to list please

So folks these rotors have 2mm or wear like most big brake kit floating rotors. The OE and OEM (ATE - usually within a dollar or two of best OE price/negligible) wear band is 1.6mm. So (2mm - 1.6mm) / 1.6mm = 25% more material before you get to min thickness.
Does this mean you will get 25% more wear? Actually, under the some use pattern as OE, you should do significantly better than that, because:
1. better material (kalare, maybe you could post that E90 comparison of hardness and heat since it would be non-biased and objective)
2. better cooling than OE. My limited track experience with the OE drilled rotors was NOT good, left side rotor smoking after 3rd session first day, with new track pads, boiled fluid second day).
3. Since you start with 30 mm instead of 28mm, heat capacity is greater.
I have no financial or personal interest in RacingBrake, just want to point these things out to anyone new to brake component selection as I'd like this group buy to succeed.

RacingBrake: Kalare has started an entry in M3Forum.net in the for sale section trying to help advertise this. I'm not sure this is according to the rules since it kind of advertises for a non-sponsor, but they've not locked or removed the post. Many ZCP owners there, so we're trying to talk up this Group Buy.

To thank you for your supports, we are throwing in a free set of wheel studs/nuts conversion kit ($105 value for free - first 5 orders only).

RB wheel studs are made of alloy steel, heat treated, and certified to SAE 10.9 class. They feature an 8mm hex head for easy installation and replacement.

As a owner of RB two piece rotor, you are eligible to purchase a PU (Progressive Upgrade) kit which contains RB460 big 4 piston calipers and adapter to replace stock caliper for an affordable and instant true high performance aluminum caliper kit.

So you can purchase in two stage (rotors now and PU kit later), or purchase the complete kit at the same time for OE size (348x39) or oversize BBK (360x30 - Same as M3).

If you are interested in these two complete caliper kits they can be made available for pre-orders with the same discount and bonus offer (wheel stud conversion kit).

Same PU and BBK will also be offered to BMW E90 (06-11) 135i/328i/330i/355i owners in a separate thread under Group Buy.

OK I'm in for ZCP rotors. Not sure about the PU versus BBK yet.

Thanks "docnyt", you are added to the list.

The difference is if you buy PU (OE size) kit now, you install all components together at same time, so if your budget allows that what most customers do.

Since there are quite a few customers own RB two piece rotors so this PU kit is primarily offered for them, and also for those people just want to have a better brake control and look behind their wheels so they can just use this kit along with their stock (or aftermarket rotors).

I'm in for a ZCP set! Also excited about the stud/nut kit, thanks for that!

Which pads would you recommend for a daily driver (I'm pretty aggressive), that is planning to track the car once or twice a year (have tracked other cars before)?

Are the wheel nuts (for the stud kit) available in black (like the stud)?
Can you offer a discount on a second stud kit (so we have matching front and rear)?
Thanks
