Default 2 piece rotors for maximas

The biggest and most popular brake upgrade for maxima from years 1995-2003 are an upgrade to the 12.6" x 1.1" 6th generation maxima rotors (years 2004-present)...so virtually every year maxima benefit from 2 piece rotors 2005-07 maxima rotors, the upgrade is very cost effective since rotor warping and fade is a big issue for maximas of the 95-03 years which only came with 11" x 0.9" up front.

you currently make 1 piece rotors for maxima years 2004-07 and I am sure many owners who have done this upgrade have ordered these rotors from you guys. So you already have the template to work off of and these are eerily close to the 2 piece 350z rotors you make, same bolt pattern, rotor face/pad area would fit and the thickness is the same, the only thing needed change is the diameter appears to be .1" too large, so milling them would work.

michaelnyden,

We thank you for your inquiry here is the available one-piece rotor that we can offer for the complete upgrade from 89-07.

http://www.racingbrake.com/NISSAN_MAXIMA_s/259.htm

Here is the summary of the offer:

As you can see the rotor size is substantially increased from 04+ which we believe will require 17" wheels. Although we are able to build two-piece rotor either for 04-07 (P/N 9161) and 02-03 (P/N 9082), but for anyone below 2003 probably P/N 9082 two-piece rotor is preferred so their is no need to acquire larger wheels (17").

We have similiar two-piece rotors built to upgrade stock WRX and RX7 and they are trackable.

We also offered affordable OE caliper big brake kit (324x24mm) with one-piece and two-piece rotors for 00-03 upgrade as follows:

We are committed to serving Maxima enthusiasts and we certainly appreciate if you can link this thread to your forums and provide your input and suggestions so we can better serve your community.

I just found out the 06/07 350z (non-brembo) also uses the same rotors 12.6" by 1.1" same part numbers on your website as well...

according to my friend, a guy named Joe (with a yellow m3) who works for you guys was involved in a project of making these 2 piece rotors for non-brembo 350z's which would fit...

so no plans to make 2 piece rotors that fit any of those vehicles?
the 350z brembo rotor is very close to the size of these rotors which you offer in 2 piece...I wonder about the measurements...

Still curious about this. Expecially when you already make a 12.6" outer rotor (2pc) for the rx8 application. We should be able to use the same hats as the oem brembo 2pc rotors that you offer? So rx8 12.6" outer w/ Nissan brembo hat = 12.6" 2pc for the above applications? Hopefully the hat offsets for the brembo is the same as the non brembo.

Or maybe the hat off the oem bbk kits you have for the Z/G?

Very good question. In fact the offset on Brembo track model rotor (324x30) has the same offset as our 9161 rotor (320x28)that fits a lot of applications, so a retrofit can make the two piece rotors quickly available - this retrofit is much closer than RX8.
Can you help to get the words out and have your community voices their supports, and we will make them available at a very attractive price.

Would it be possible to give a ballpark price for general reference? And an estimated weight? I would assume it would be close to the brembo 2pc oem option weight.

But thanks for the reply. The link to the applications should help others see the market potential. As mike mentioned, not only could the oem people benefit but those that use the 6th gen parts as a mild bbk for their older generation maximas. Basicly from 89-04.

It costs more to make two piece rotors than one piece, however the volume can drive the price down and if we can take pre-orders it will also help to lower the cost. Usually we offer 20% discount for pre-orders, so with that you will be looking around $250/each which is about the same or less than OE one piece rotors.

The rotor will prbably 1-1.5 lbs lighter than Brembo Track two piece.

We will be signing up as a sponsor at G35 driver forum next week and offer member discounts for G35 owners to purchase either one piece or two piece (pre-order).

As to rotor upgrade for older models Maxima, other than rotors they may also have to acquire the right caliper and brackets so the additional cost and hassle may discourage them unless you have different views.
