Hammad brought his 2012 GTR back to our shop two weeks ago to check how RB replacement rotors performed after all these heavy track days:
Rotor Surface: Looks very healthy, smooth and shining, shows no sign of any crack.
Rotor Wear: Literally no wear, measured as 33.92mm (34.0mm when new)
pad Wear: Uneven pad wear was noticed:
New pad=18.5mm, so the pad had worn ~2.0 mm which shows good pad/rotor compatibility and durability, however the uneven wear resulting from the uneven hydraulic pressure can affect the overall performance and other ill effect including vibration under higher speed braking, overheating, accelerating pad wear, shorten rotor life etc.
In general any pad thickness variation over 1.0mm (between leading and trailing-In red) should be rectified by rebuilding the caliper with new seals or new pads, especially for a long (186mm) and wide (65mm) pads like GTR, I would recommend to keep it under 0.6mm for peak track performance.
