240sx and/or z32
I have a 96 240sx, I'm looking for a rear brake option preferably with 2-piece rotors. I need more rear brake bias as is very common with these cars in a roadracing application. I don't see any viable rear brakes available on your website but I do see an option for the 300zx which can be easily adapted to fit. This is the most common rear brake setup for the 240sx but it comes with a major weight penalty being that the 300zx uses a drum parking brake. So I'm interested in your rear z32 brake rotors, but I have a couple questions.
Are the rotor discs proprietary or are they a commonly available size from wildwood or the like? If so, what are the specs and/or replacement part numbers? To me, price and availability of consumables are more of a consideration than initial purchase price.
Again, what are the specs of the rotor? Mostly interested in diameter, thickness, bolt pattern, weight.
Most 240sx folks are either not interested in parking brake at all (the racing crowd) or want one that can take some heat (the drift crowd). That being said, the weight added from the "parking only" parking brake is useless to the majority of the people I know in the community. What are the odds of getting a rear brake rotor with no parking provisions? The grip guys will love the weight reduction, the drift guys won't care because they're using dual hydraulic calipers anyway. And it's a win for me because I'll finally have a kit that I want to buy!
