I'm extremely interested! Especially the comparatively reasonably priced upgrade route.

Quick question. I know the stud kit for the front axle is "free" but I already have a stud kit that I'm happy with and plan to transfer it to the RB rotors. Is there any discount offered if we forego the stud kit? Or will we simply need to sell it off if it's not something we'll be putting to use?

Just sell it off. RB has been nice enough to offer the free stud kit. I'm sure you could get at least 80 bucks or so for a brand new kit!

Hop on, we need one more!

I'm certainly fine with that approach but, of course, if I can reduce my initial cost that is preferred! RB folks... what's your say on the subject?

But, in any event, sign me up! Minus the brake pads, please, because I have plenty of pads stockpiled for both street and track purposes.

Thank you. You are added to the list which qualifies this GB for a 20% discount.

Great. So no change in price if I don't want the stud kit?

Also, I'm not finding a ton of information on track pads available in the D1149 shape used by the upgrade calipers. Everything offered by Hawk, for example, is of the "performance street" variety and I'm not seeing much information on PFC pads in that shape.

            Thanks!!

As we received inquires regarding possible upgrades beyond two piece rotors, so we like to explain the following:

                Option 1:

Buy PU Kit along with two piece rotors - This means you will be buying a complete aluminum caliper brake kit having 348x30 size rotor. This kit will have the same exact offset as stock, so you should be able to fit under the same wheel as you have now (radially), axially will depend on the space of your wheel spokes. (Refer to first post for fitment dimensions)

                Option 2:

Buy Big Brake Kit and upgrade straight to E9x size
(360x30). This kit requires 19" wheel.

As we stated earlier, the same GB discount (now 20%) will be offered for you to purchase these kits - Now or later (within 12 months).

So if you prefer to purchase either option, please let us know so we can we can update your order list.

We like to know how many of you are interested in PU kit or even BBK. If you are also interested in BBK we will add more info to this GB.

Let us hear your voice and get your friends and members to sign up here. The GB is still open until 10/15/12.

Thank you for all your supports.

                  pads for RB cali

They aren't as common as I'd like to see, but:
                  1. RB has pads
                  2. Carbotech offers their whole line
                  3. Porterfield (who appears to own or be part of PFC, Hawk, Raybestos) can be special ordered, and although this is new to me, apparently many makers will do this for you.
I'm most familiar with Hawk as well, but as long as it isn't a single source and there's an alternative, I'm good with it.

Don't worry. This is a very common and popular shape pad that all pad mfgrs make, and they shall make any compounds available if there is a demand - or at least we can have Hawk make their DTC available.

This pad was chosen by RB simply for its good aspect ratio (length vs. thickness per FMSI, or width (132mm) vs height (60mm)) that we think it can provide an optimal pad and rotor contact for the best braking efficiency w/o possible ill effects such as knock back, or too sensitive to vibration.

You are buying a kit that's designed and built by an innovative professional brake company with more than 25 years in business. Not a big name like Brembo or AP nor some brands just copied their designs from others, or a mix & match kits like some online stores can offer.

RB offers you 100% satisfaction with a money back guarantee, if you disagree this would be the best (in value and performance) brake upgrade you can even purchase in the performance market.

I'm not buying the "PU" kit at this point but it's possible I will within 12 months so this is mostly a forward-looking thought exercise! That said, it would be fantastic of Hawk made their track compounds (the DTC-60, specifically) available in the appropriate size. The PFC line of racing compounds is also very well liked but they are generally a good amount more expensive!

Totally understood. I had every bit of confidence that the pad shape was chosen for the right reasons!

This is part of your appeal, actually, as a small company can focus on customer service more directly.

Aside from that, I really like the piston seal design of these calipers. The non-competition street kits offered by ALL of the big names have external dust boots that are just as prone to damage from excessive heat as the OEM seals on our stock calipers. And, having gone through quite a number of rebuild kits, this is a very nice feature. Sure, we can get the AP Racing competition calipers that ditch the seals completely but they cost a ton more and you have to maintain them a ton more.

                        Always a good thing!

Does RB calipers retain factory brake pad wear sensor?

What is the price difference between 360x30 and .348x30?

I am leaning toward getting rotor and caliper the same time.

                          Thanks.

Anyone have any idea if the 360x30 will clear Apex ARC8 18 wheels (and how much offset is required)? I have a set of 18x8.5 ET38s.

RB, do you have any answer for the above two questions?

Finnegan...my bet is it would clear, but it would be hard to tell for RB if they don't just have a bunch of random wheels hanging around. RB...maybe you could post the wheel fitment diagram for the BBK as well?

Also, please add user "Krell" to the list from M3Forum. He would like rotors, NO pads and an extra set of studs. Said he's having trouble signing up in this forum, I'll tell him to post up when he can.

Kalare, agreed, I doubt they be able to answer my specific question. But with the specs (as you suggested, similar to this) I'd have what I need to measure.

RB, if you can post up the dimensions of both the 360 and 380 BBK kits that would be a big help. (I know the 380 will fit 19" wheels only, but detail on fitment will probably be helpful to some.)
